Phase 3: Completed

Phase 3 of the email migration involved migrating the generic / shared accounts as well as School of Medicine rooms that were setup in Lotus Notes.

Phase 2: Completed

Phase 2 of the email migration is comprised of 3 parts. Each part is described below.

  • Part I - Migration of users whom have never-been migrated (Starting on November 23, 2015): The following user types will be affected accordingly...
    • 1) Users not provided a VCUHEALTH.ORG account
      • These users will be sent an email containing information about their VCUHEALTH.ORG account and instructions for how to setup their new VCUHEALTH.ORG account.
      • These users' VCU.EDU account will be configured to forward all new email to their new VCUHEALTH.ORG account.
      • These users' VCU.EDU email, folder structure, contacts, and calendar entries will be migrated into their new VCUHEALTH.ORG account
    • 2) Users given a VCUHEALTH.ORG account but have not yet started using it
      • These users' VCU.EDU account will be configured to forward all new email to their new VCUHEALTH.ORG account.
      • These users' VCU.EDU email, folder structure, contacts, and calendar entries will be migrated into their new VCUHEALTH.ORG account
    • 3) Users given a VCUHEALTH.ORG account and are using it but their email was never moved over from their VCU.EDU account
      • will begin seeing their VCU.EDU email, folder structure, contacts, and calendar entries merge into their VCUHEALTH.ORG account.
  • Part II - Migration of archived mailboxes (TBD): Users' VCU.EDU archived email will be migrated into their VCUHEALTH.ORG email account.
  • Part III - Migration of secondary email accounts (ongoing as of December 9th, 2015): Users that had both VCU.EDU and MCVH-VCU.EDU email accounts will have their secondary email account (the one that was not migrated) migrated into their VCUHEALTH.ORG email account.
    • Part III is under way. Users with secondary accounts may already see email from their secondary account being merged into their VCUHEALTH.ORG account. This process is ongoing.
